network: fix sensitivity of DNS and route configuration widgets

When the IP method is "disabled" or "shared" then everything else is
supposed to be insensitive. This currently fails if you toggle between
the two, because it's implemented using property bindings that are just
not smart enough to handle this task. Handle sensitivity only in
method_changed() to avoid this.

Additionally, not all of the widgets are being consistently
disabled/enabled when appropriate. E.g. when the method is "local" then
only the DNS entry, route entries, and default route checkboxes become
insensitive, leaving the other widgets, including notably the Automatic
switches, sensitive. They should all become insensitive, as when the
method is "disabled" or "shared." Fix this by organizing all the related
widgets into boxes and setting the sensitivity of the entire box. (Note
the strategy followed here does not exactly match nm-connection-editor,
which always allows editing addresses. We only allow that in Manual
mode. I'm not sure if this is advisable or not, so won't touch that.)

Finally, the Automatic DNS and Automatic Routes toggles should only be
sensitive when the method is "Automatic".

info-overview: stop displaying GNOME Shell version

Since GNOME 43, this panel displays the GNOME Shell version rather than
the GNOME version since we removed the XML file containing GNOME version
from gnome-desktop and it is no longer possible to determine which
version of GNOME is used. However, the panel still says "GNOME Version"
and not "GNOME Shell Version," which leads to incorrect results because
the versions are different. For example, GNOME 43.6 contains GNOME Shell
43.5. It is therefore incorrect to display the GNOME Shell version next
to the label "GNOME Version."

Furthermore, we do not have consensus to rename this label to "GNOME
Shell Version" as this is apparently intended to be an internal codename
rather than a user-facing name. See gnome-control-center!1481.

The only remaining reasonable course of action is to just not show the
GNOME Shell version anymore. It's a little unfortunate, because it
seemed useful to me, but I don't see what else we can do here.

The GNOME version and the GNOME Shell version are not the same thing.
Historically, this panel displayed the GNOME version from gnome-desktop.
But that is not very useful, so for GNOME 43 we switched to showing the
GNOME Shell version instead. Now that GNOME 43.1 is out but GNOME Shell
43.1 is not, users are noticing the inconsistency between the version
numbers. It's too late to fix for GNOME 43 due to string freeze, but we
should disambiguate this going forward.

sound: update the volume-slider after getting a valid stream

In the ubuntu 20.04, we met an issue about the output volume-slider
on the machine with the legacy HDA audio driver, the output device
is the Speaker first (analog-stereo pa sink), then we connect a hdmi
monitor, the HDMI audio is in the output combo-box, we select the
hdmi audio (hdmi-stereo pa sink) from the combo-box, the hdmi audio
becomes the active output device now, we adjust the output volume from
the volume-slider, the slider UI is changed, but the output sound
is not changed with the UI.

The root cause is when the speaker is active, the pulseaudio only
keeps the analog-stereo sink, the sink hdmi-stereo is unlinked, when
users select the hdmi audio from UI, the pulseaudio will unlink
analo-stereo sink and create hdmi-stereo sink, but before hdmi-stereo
is created, the output_device_changed_cb() is called and
gvc_mixer_control_get_stream_from_device() returns a NULL since the
hdmi-stereo sink is not created yet in the pulseaudio. Because stream
is NULL, the output_volume_slider->stream is NULL, users can't change
the output volume via the volume-slider.

To fix it, we add a output_volume_slider->stream check in the
device_update_cb(), if it is NULL, get the stream and set it to
volume-slider. In this function, the sink hdmi-stereo is created
already, so the stream is not NULL. And this change also applies to
input as well.

printers: Do not authenticate SMB servers when search field is edited

When the search field in the "Add Printer" dialog is edited, no
authentication with a remote SMB server should be attempted. The server
should just be added to the list and marked with "Server requires
authentication". The user can then authenticate the server by clicking
on it.

The behavior described above is probably the intended one when the code
was written, since there is no closure registered for the
"authentication-required" signal in the function this commit modifies.
This commit should simply restore the intended behavior.

is a security measure to make sure users didn't confuse their

display: Use correct mode for supported scale checking

Monitors may not always have a mode. This means we cannot look up the
mode on the fly, but instead need to have a heuristic to select a mode
if there is none.

Everything was in place already for this, except that one location was
still doing a fresh lookup, possibly causing a crash.

It's inaccurate - see !388 - and brings a udisks2 dependency which we
could drop if we didn't have this. You can use GNOME Disks or GNOME
System Monitor to see the same information.

region: Do not show XKB input sources for CJK in language rows

Only ibus based input sources should be used for CJK languages.

XKB layouts for CJK languages have their own language or country specific
features but they can't be used alone for text input of the languages. So
selecting one of the XKB layouts as an input source does not make sense.
Showing these lnput sources in the input source selection UI could confuse
users and lead them to broken input settings.

It removes the CJK XKB input sources from the language rows. But they are kept
in the "Other" row, as they often seem to be used workarounds for settings
desired XKB layouts for other input sources.

info: Allow specifying the path of /etc/os-release

/etc/os-release is a specification invented on Linux. It is adopted by
most Linux distributions, but it haven't been considered important
enough for other non-Linux systems to implement it. On FreeBSD, the base
system doesn't include an os-release file. To get an os-release file,
users can install an additional package called 'etc_os-release'. Since
it isn't considered as a part of the system, it can't be put in /etc and
gnome-control-center is unable to find it.

Therefore, to allow gnome-control-center finding os-release file in a
different location, we have to add an option to allow changing the
default path. An alternative solution is to use 'uname' function when
os-release can't be opened, but the proposal was rejected.

info: Don't depend on udisks2 client library

The official implementation of udisks2 service is only available on
Linux. Since the client library is bundled with the service, it is not
possible to install the client library on non-Linux systems without
patching the build system of udisks2. In order to support non-Linux
systems with their unofficial udisks2 service implementations, we should
use GDBus directly instead of relying on the client library.
