Description of the change
Merge with debian's logwatch package.
This just carries forward Christian's changes, as usual.
PPA available for testing is at
https:/
Usual git ubuntu tags are pushed.

Side questions (unrelated to the merge itself):
In putting this into git-ubuntu I noticed his commit message included some extra info, that hasn't generally been included in the debian changelog. In order to get git-ubuntu to generate the changelog properly I had to omit those notes from the git commits carried forward; I'm not sure what the proper practice is for stuff like this, but here are my thoughts on the two items:
- debian/
(cherry picked from commit b77ad1e9ec576f3
This Delta should be submitted to Debian, I expect it applies there as
well.
By now presumably Debian is aware of this change, but may still be worth sending to them. I'll take the task to followup and do this if it's not been done already; so this note does not need to be carried in git history.
- debian/control: depend on postfix rather than exim4.
(cherry picked from commit bf4c526738a9f60
default-mta is provided by postfix since precise.
This should be droppable next merge.
It's been many merges since precise, so presumably this change still needs to be present, since it's been carried forward so long, and there's been no substantial mta changes. I think the note can be dropped, to avoid confusion?
There was an error fetching revisions from git servers. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact Launchpad support.
I tried to track down then the logrotation change was added, but that is very old. I think this is when it was introduced: cvs20090906- 1ubuntu3) maverick; urgency=low
logwatch (7.3.6.
* conf/logfiles/*, debian/ dist.conf/ logfiles/ *:
Due to migration to rsyslog, the first rotation is now .1 and not .0

Can you please check if that's also the case in debian, i.e., if they are also affected by it, and then submit this change to them? Salsa may not be the best place, given https:/ /salsa. debian. org/debian/ logwatch/ merge_requests/ 1 is still unanswered, so maybe a debian bug that we can "Closes: #xxxxxx" in our d/changelog.
