Description of the change

This is the bootstrap proposal for sbcl in ppc64le, as described in https://<email address hidden>/msg10518.html

A PPA with the builds is available at https://launchpad.net/~athos-ribeiro/+archive/ubuntu/sbcl-ppc64le-bootstrap/+packages.

This is the 1st of 2 steps for the bootstrapping process. The second step MP is available at https://code.launchpad.net/~athos-ribeiro/ubuntu/+source/sbcl/+git/sbcl/+merge/426768

The MP LGTM, but the ppc64el build on your PPA is segfaulting. For this reason, I'm marking this as Needs Information until we can figure out what's going on.

Thanks for the review, Sergio.

I was able to build the package in a clean kinetic vm in a ppc64el host (logs are here [1]). Hence, I suppose we are hitting some sort of lack of resources (maybe OOM?) in that PPA build. In this case, I believe we can proceed with the boostrap process and push upload this first change. If we hit the resource issue again, we may need to check our options with the LP builds. Thoughts?

Thanks for the update and the investigation, Athos.

Hm, this is strange and I feel uneasy that we can't reproduce the segfault locally, but it's unfortunately not the first time we've seen these types of problems with the infrastructure. I've been thinking it it'd be worth building this package in a bileto PPA, which has more resources. But I don't think it's necessary.

Anyway, I am +1 to proceeding with the upload, then. If the segfault happens during the official build, we won't be in a worse position than the one we're in right now.

LGTM.
